I don't do new year resolutions
I don't do new year resolutions.
Yes, I know, I already said that in the title, but I feel like it bears repeating.
It's kind of like my whole expectations versus hopes shtick. Because for all the effort and time and money I've invested in trying to be a different me, nothing really ever changes from me willing it to change.
They just happen organically.
Which is immensely frustrating to every person who has tried.
Yes, including me.
So there's a few things I'm working on, mostly under the heading of getting myself closer to vanlife, and they're not new:
- Accumulate more ebooks
- Accumulate more vanlife-adjacent knowledge
- Foraging
- Land-nav
- First aid
- Vehicle and electrical maintenance
- ...and probably a few other things I'm forgetting.
- Un-accumulate more physical possessions.
And beyond that, it's the easy stuff.
- Read more books
- Write more words
- Drink more tea
- Listen to more music (2025: 12k total tracks, 6k unique tracks, 2k artists)
- Doomscroll less
So here's to a new year.
And here's hoping it's not just like the last one but worse.
